What we collect
Account information (name, email, company), assessment responses, learning progress, and technical metadata (IP address, browser type) used to operate and secure the Service.
How we use it
- To operate the Service and generate personalised AI development plans.
- To provide employer dashboards showing aggregate readiness and ROI.
- To send transactional emails (invites, billing, product updates).
- To improve the Service — never to sell your data to third parties.
AI processing
Assessment answers and progress data are processed by large language models to generate plans and recommendations. We do not use your data to train third-party foundation models.
Data Processing
The AI Skills Company Ltd acts as the data controller for account and marketing data, and as a data processor for content submitted by employer customers about their employees. Personal data is processed on the lawful bases of (a) performance of a contract, (b) legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and (c) consent, where applicable (e.g. optional analytics cookies).
- Data is hosted within the UK/EEA where possible; cross-border transfers rely on UK IDTA / EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Sub-processors include our cloud hosting, AI inference, transactional email, and payment providers, each contractually bound by GDPR-compliant terms.
- We apply technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, and audit logging.
- A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available to employer customers on request.
Data sharing
We share data only with sub-processors that help us run the Service (hosting, AI inference, email, payments). Each is contractually bound to protect your data. We do not sell personal data.

If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under UK GDPR and EU GDPR:
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause processing in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
- Right to lodge a complaint — with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or your local EU supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@theaiskillscompany.com. We will respond within one month.

We keep account data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations.
